Founded in 1995, Halter Financial Group (HFG) is a leading U.S. based consulting firm specializing in taking companies public through the reverse merger and alternative public offering process “APO” (a contemporaneous reverse merger transaction with a private placement equity capital raise). With offices in Dallas and Shanghai, HFG has the ability to provide comprehensive going public services for the benefit of our clients. Since 1987, our principals have been involved in well over 100 reverse merger and APO® transactions, and our organization includes individuals with expertise and knowledge in all of the areas that are required to successfully complete these types of transactions. We advise our clients on strategic planning, corporate and securities law, SEC accounting, investor relations, capital raising and investment banking matters. While HFG remains the leading reverse merger and APO® firm for US companies, with the establishment of our operations in Shanghai and successful transactions conducted over the past several years, HFG is also widely considered the top organization in China.
We also offer the HFG Fund, a proprietary fund that will selectively invest our firm's own capital in conjunction with our client's reverse merger transactions.
In the past several years HFG has expanded its international focus, primarily to the People's Republic of China. We have opened an office in Shanghai, and are widely considered the top reverse merger organization in China, having completed the largest U.S.-listed reverse merger in the country's history and maintain an extensive pipeline of Chinese companies seeking a listing in the U.S. public markets. In China, HFG offers another specialized fund for our reverse merger clients. The Halter China Fund is an independent, professionally managed fund that is available to invest in HFG Chinese reverse merger transactions.
As part of our China strategy, HFG has actively expanded into the asset management services business with several key initiatives. In 2003, HFG launched the Halter USX China Index (Ticker Symbol: ^HXC), dedicated specifically to tracking U.S.-listed companies who conduct the majority of their business in Mainland China. The product is intended to combine what we believe is the greatest investment opportunity in the world with the relative safety and transparency offered in a U.S. listing. With extensive distribution in the investment community and exposure in the press, in 2004 we launched the Powershares Golden Dragon Halter USX China Portfolio (AMEX: PGJ), an exchange traded fund (ETF) trading on the Amex. We also signed an agreement with the American Stock Exchange for various index-related services, making them our exclusive partner for the calculation and distribution of the Halter USX China Index, as well as the trading and marketing of the ETF, options and exchange-listed structured derivative securities.
